DIY Lamination: A Simple, Budget-Friendly Alternative

1 min read

Want to make your printable worksheets and learning resources reusable without investing in a laminating machine? Here's a simple alternative using something you may already have at home: clear packing tape!

Packing tape can be used to create a protective covering over printed materials, making them more durable and suitable for repeated use.

What You'll Need

  • Clear packing tape

  • Printed worksheet

  • Scissors

  • Flat surface

  • Dry-erase marker

How to Do It

  1. Prepare your resource: Print the worksheet or guide you would like to protect.

  2. Apply the tape: Carefully place strips of clear packing tape over the printed page, slightly overlapping each strip to avoid gaps.

  3. Smooth it out: Use your fingers or a flat card to gently smooth the tape and remove air bubbles.

  4. Cover the other side (optional): For added protection, repeat the process on the back of the page.

  5. Trim the edges: Carefully trim away any excess tape.

Ready to Reuse!

Your resource now has a protective covering! Try using a dry-erase marker for activities that require repeated writing. Test the marker on a small corner first to make sure it wipes away cleanly.
